The Pandanus Resort is located on the eastern side of the Mui Ne peninsula and is the closest resort to the famous "red" sand dunes. The picturesque fishing town of Mui Ne, with a population of 22,000, covers the entire west side of the two-kilometer-wide peninsula. The Pandanus is one kilometer from the town and is separated from the myriad of small resorts and guest houses that line the beach in Ham Tien ward. Therefore we have a relatively private white sand beach.
Mui Ne is a ward of the city of Phan Thiet, which is located 200 kilometers due east of Ho Chi Minh City. From Phan Thiet city center, continue travelling east towards Mui Ne. Approximately two kilometers past a toll gate and up a hill in Phan Thiet's Phu Hai ward is a roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout onto a four lane divided parkway. Continue on this parkway through Ham Tien ward towards Hon Rom. At the next roundabout, turn right. The Pandanus Resort is just 50 meters down the hill from the parkway on the left hand side of the road.
The Mui Ne area records the least amount of rainfall of any area of Vietnam. So even when it rains daily during the monsoon season in other parts of the country, it only rains sporadically in Mui Ne. This creates a perfect environment for a beach resort and is the reason that there are so many desert-like sand dunes in the area.
