News and Press Release
Pandanus Resort – A Destination to Explore Cham Culture and Cuisine this October and November.
Every October, the Kate Festival – a highlight of Cham culture in Phan Thiet – takes place at the ancient Po Sah Inu Tower in Phan Thiet. This year, the festival will be held on October 20 and 21, as the Cham community gathers to honour their ancestors, express gratitude to the deities, and pray for peace and prosperity.
During these two festive days, the sacred tower complex comes alive with vibrant energy and joyful spirit. Visitors can witness ancient rituals led by Balamon and Bani priests, colourful processions carrying the attire of the goddess Po Sah Inu, and captivating performances of Cham music and dance. Around the tower, the atmosphere is filled with the sounds of Saranai horns, lively folk games, and the enticing aroma of traditional Cham dishes prepared by local communities.
In addition to our regular excursions to Phan Thiet and Phan Rang, Pandanus Resort Mui Ne will organise special tours for guests to attend the Kate Festival on October 20 and 21 – offering a rare opportunity to immerse in authentic Cham traditions and experience the local way of life.
Nestled in the fishing village of Mui Ne, this Mui Ne resort – Pandanus Resort – is a four-star tropical retreat infused with the spirit of ancient Cham culture. Surrounded by swaying coconut palms, vibrant bougainvillea, and lotus-filled ponds, the resort reflects the beauty of authentic Mui Ne. Its terracotta-hued architecture and Cham-inspired artistry create a serene sanctuary where local heritage, nature, and warm hospitality blend in perfect harmony.
To celebrate this festive cultural season and the richness of Cham cuisine, Pandanus Resort Mui Ne will host “The Taste of Cham” – a Cham Buffet Gala Dinner on the evening of November 1 at Café Blue Lagoon. Our talented local chefs will present an exquisite selection of traditional Cham specialties such as grilled snakehead fish, spiced grilled goat, goat curry, roast chicken with coconut rice, mango salad with anchovies, braised frog, goat stew with tamarind, and handcrafted ginger cake. The evening will be complemented by graceful Cham dance performances and the freshest local seafood, offering guests an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the heritage and flavours of the Cham people.

Bringing Hope for a Brighter Future for the Ocean
The sea is not only part of the natural beauty of our planet but is also the source of all life on earth. It is currently the habitat for millions of species which needs to be protected from the degradation caused by human activity. The more we pollute the ocean with trash and manmade chemicals like plastic waste, the more we denigrate the future of all living things.
